Are students looking for a fun way to do their volunteer hours? CNIB is already preparing for our Annual CNIB Holiday Gift Wrap at Fairview Mall! CNIB invites your school to join us from December 1 through December 24 and declare your gift wrapping day!

CNIB Holiday Gift Wrap volunteers provide coat check and gift wrapping services to Fairview shoppers. Generally, 5 volunteers per 4 hour shift are required to power the CNIB Holiday Gift Wrap Kiosk. There are four shifts starting at 9am and finishing at 9-11pm with the exception of Sundays (10am to 6pm) and Christmas Eve (9am to 5pm).  Also, from December 16th to 23rd the mall extends their hours until 11pm.

All proceeds from the CNIB Holiday Gift Wrap directly benefit CNIB programs and services in our community. Fairview Mall generously provides the location and enough gift wrapping materials to make even the North Pole envious!

This CNIB Holiday Gift Wrap event is a wonderful opportunity to deepen our relationships with local volunteers who have a dedicated interest in improving the lives of our fellow community members.

As Canada’s primary provider of vision rehabilitation services, CNIB has an ongoing commitment to promoting vision health and enhancing independence for people who are blind or partially sighted. The programs and services we provide are critical to Canadians as:

  • Every 12 minutes, someone in Canada develops significant vision loss.
  • 75% of vision loss can be prevented or treated.
  • Vision loss costs Canadians $15.8 billion every year.
